One of the most heartwarming aspects of Irish Fest I thru V (2013-2017), was the outpouring of financial generosity from businesses and individuals. It was incredible to receive donations not only from Lawler, Chickasaw County, and the state of Iowa…but literally from expatriates living all over this vast country. Frankly, we hope to do even better in 2018 and covet your support. It is no small task to undertake this Lawler project, and we can’t do it without your assistance. No donation is too small or too large. Thanks in advance for helping us out.

Volunteer. There is only one way we know of to make Irish Fest VI even more fun than showing up on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday to enjoy the festivities. What, you ask, is it that could me more fun? Thanks for asking. The answer: be an active part of working Fest VI before, during or afterwards! Truth be told, we could never pull this off without participation from the best workers on the planet. We need your skills, your work ethic and your can-do attitude to make it happen. Be a real participant. Volunteer.
Parade. What’s a party without a parade? Not much…that’s what we think! So Irish Fest Saturday will feature one of the best line-ups possible. The entire family will enjoy a parade of festive Irish music, antique tractors, clowns, and fire trucks from yesterday and today. This year’s theme is “Irish Spirit – Lawler Pride”. We are proud of our heritage and the people of the community of Lawler! You’ll need to print off the file to complete; it cannot be completed online. 1:00pm start time. Come early, grab some lunch and a beverage and pick out your favorite viewing spot.
Golf. Call up your inner-Michelle Wie or Tiger Woods! Join in this fun and competitive mixed-gender best ball foursome on Irish Fest Friday. So your putting is lousy? Big deal. You take care of the chipping. The other three will bail you out with their laughter, flat stick expertise, and encouragement. You’ll need to print off the file to complete; it cannot be completed online.
5K Run/Walk. There is no better sense of accomplishment for an active person between the ages of 5 and 85 than running, jogging or walking with several hundred of your best friends from start to finish in the 5K Run on Saturday morning, June 16. The best part? You’ve made room for the extra cold one from the beer tent or that funnel cake that has your name on it. You can sign up online or print off and complete the registration form and mail in your payment.
Vendors. Don’t plan on doing any cooking during Irish Fest VI weekend. We’ve got that task covered for you! You’ll love the tasty chow, ranging from grilled brats and the Lion’s best barbequed chicken to the tastiest funnel cakes and cotton candy on the planet. Oh yeah, and plenty of souvenir items with an Irish flavor, at the right price, to remember the great festivities. Our vendors visitor-friendly, carefully chosen, and will appreciate your patronage.
Adult Kickball Tournament. Remember that favorite game from elementary school? Get your team together for this blast from the past tournament! Saturday, June 16th. For those not in the know, kickball is like baseball, except the pitcher rolls a red bouncy ball towards the kicker instead of hurling a baseball at a batter. Bring your inner child out with this event for the Fest! Located at Junko Park, it’s sure to be lots o’fun!
Car & Tractor Show. Nostalgic for those great cars and tractors of the past? Participate or just enjoy those cherished classics at this event, Saturday, June 16 following the parade.
